About me

Hello, I’m Anna.

In my varied career I've built brands, drawn maps, designed album covers, created websites and illustrated picture books, one of which was nominated for a CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal.

During Lockdown, I won a national competition with my children's story 'Out on Bikes with Grampy'. Cycle UK had the audacious plan of planting it into the book bag of every pre-school child in Scotland. Sadly it never happened, but their generous prize fund enabled me to buy a big iPad and develop my illustration style.

Mixing modern and traditional methods, I create vibrant characters in scenes filled with humour, warmth and camaraderie. I get a great kick out of making people laugh, but my ultimate goal is to inspire children to build imaginary worlds using up-cycled nonsense, the odd branch and a bucket of mud.

When not 'colouring in', I play the violin with friends, drink too much coffee and love cooking pizzas for my family. I've made more pizzas than we've had hot dinners... which is actually impossible.

I love solving creative problems for people. Please get in touch if you have an idea you’d like to develop.
