Nominated for a CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal and story winner of Cycling Uk’s ‘get out on bikes’ picture book competition, I use traditional and digital processes, creating determined, vibrant characters in scenes filled with humour, warmth and camaraderie.

I designed and illustrated two children’s books written by mother and son team Elke & Alex Barber.
As well as illustrating the first book, my work involved helping define the voice of the main character and editing text.
Both books are aimed at young children and deal with the difficult subjects of sudden death & bereavement.
I was nominated for a CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal for my work in the first book.

I illustrated sets of stills of inanimate objects in different sections of the home, becoming very pleased when water and money are being saved.
My stills were animated to create a series of little films for this national ‘Waters Worth Saving’ campaign.
Using the small flush when possible to save water and money.

“… I work in a FTSE 25 company and lead a large part of the group’s software engineering. This will really make you think. It will also inspire you to act on those thoughts. I’m fighting the urge to say “you have to read this and take action or you’re dead!” But that kinda goes against the ethos. I trust though you know what I’m getting at. This client wanted easy-to-understand illustrations to present the complexities of Mitochondria along with the positive short, medium and long term impact of regular exercise on our bodies.
I created a pared back branded template and incorporated the client’s colour palette into simplified vector graphic illustrations.
